Sarah Taylor, L.P.C.
Welcome to your first steps! I am grateful for the opportunity to help you reach your goals. Mental health has always been my passion since I was in middle school and discovered how empowering it can be to focus on self-empathy and compassion. I received my undergraduate degree at Georgia State University, obtaining a degree in psychology. I then completed my Master's program in mental health counseling at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Throughout my experience in Massachusetts, I was fortunate enough to have a diverse collection of experiences. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals overcoming domestic violence, individuals struggling with addiction and substance use, complex trauma and persistent mental illness, as well as individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, or an array of personality disorders.
I have been fortunate enough to work with a diverse group of clients from ages 5-55 from a variety of backgrounds. I have a passion for advocating for individuals from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds and LGBTQ+ identities. When I returned from Massachusetts, I began working in the school system and was able to work with students and their families to obtain their treatment goals. I am well-versed in group therapy as well as family therapy and enjoy assisting clients in obtaining their goals.
I work from a person-centered culturally competent, trauma-informed approach with experience with CBT, DBT, mindfulness, ACT, and solution-focused interventions. I utilize a collective approach because therapy is about you, your goals, and finding approaches that help you along the way.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you. Everyone could use a hand in navigating life's challenges. I can't wait to get started!
