“Suppose you went to sleep tonight and a miracle happened. But because you were sleeping you didn’t know that the miracle occurred. What would be the first small thing you’d notice in the morning to let you know that a miracle had taken place?” This is the miracle question and it is often used in solution-focused therapy to help people start to think about change. Perhaps the answer could be “I’d be able to get up in the morning without hitting my snooze button five times” or “I would exercise” or “my kids would get ready for school without the drama.”
What would your small miracle be? Once you start considering what can be different a world of possibilities begin to unfold. Counseling sessions can help you gain focus, create strategies, and put your plans into action. It’s important to remember that small changes can lead to big changes. Why not start making changes now?
