My name is Dr. Neil Martin, and I provide psychological and educational testing services for Focus Forward Counseling and Consulting. I love being able to be a “psychological detective” with my clients. Through hearing my clients stories, making observations, and reviewing the results of my tests, we work together to find their strengths and weaknesses, explore the most likely causes of their trouble, and provide them with a path forward. When people come to me for an evaluation, some are excited about the possibilities while others are quite nervous. My clients generally find the experience to be comfortable, personable, collaborative, and reassuring. I continue to receive regular feedback that my easygoing attitude combined with the thoroughness of my evaluation provides both the clinical “roadmap” as well as the personal reassurance that my clients had been hoping for.

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Georgia Southern University in 2014. During my career, I have gained a wide variety of experience including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, completing psychological evaluations for the Department of Family and Children’s Services (DFCS), expert witness testimony, college counseling, private therapy, and private evaluation. I do my best to bring all of my skills and knowledge from these experiences into the testing and evaluation process to provide my clients with the most comprehensive assessment possible. My experience also informs my recommendations and referrals to treatment providers.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking on the many trails of Atlanta, playing video games, exercising, reading, spending time with friends and family, and traveling with my wife.
