Jasmine Gosha, L.M.F.T.
The way we navigate the world and the stories we believe about ourselves are often influenced by our environment, our past experiences and our position in society. Those past experiences and stories can make it challenging to live authentically, accomplish goals, and make strides toward healing. Therapy can be a key component in breaking down the barriers set in place by our environment and experiences. I hope to get the opportunity to become a part of your therapeutic journey.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia State University and received a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University School of Medicine. I have experience working with couples, families, teens and adults and assisting them with navigating a variety of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, LGBTQ+ issues, substance abuse and more.
I value cultivating a therapeutic relationship based on trust, acceptance, and empathy. I believe in providing a safe space for clients to speak freely and work toward their goals. In creating that safe space, it is salient that I provide therapeutic services that are culturally competent and flexible to meet client needs from various backgrounds. I utilize a collaborative approach where the client is actively involved in determining goals for treatment and providing their expertise about their own experiences. I prioritize systemic and postmodern modalities and techniques in my approach to treatment, such as, Solution Focused, Narrative, CBT and Emotion Focused. I also enjoy using mindfulness and humor in my work with clients as well.
